March marks16 years since I launched Wisnik Career Enterprises. It has been a wonderful journey, filled with tons of learning. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and share with you some key things I have learned over the past 16 years.
- Relationships are key. Stay close to your clients and stay abreast of their business and needs. Meet face to face with them whenever possible. The best part of the past 16 years has been the people I have met; watching their careers develop and helping them, when possible to achieve their goals.
- Know yourself. Do everything you can to learn your strengths and weakness. Take assessments, ask for and listen to feedback and be honest with yourself. Work and life are good when you do a lot of what you are good at and as little as possible of what you are not good at. Surround yourself with smart people and those whose skills compliment yours.
- Embrace change. Change is the only constant and within change is opportunity. Since I started WCE, I have experienced many ups and downs. The ups where higher than anything I dreamed of and the lows where worse than I imagined. What I know today is that I have to continually reinvent myself to have a thriving business and be of service to my clients.
- Be present. With your team members, clients, friends and family. As goal oriented as I am, I have learned that the present is the only place we can actually be. It is important to plan and anticipate, but we must stay in the moment or risk missing the best parts of our journey.
