This week I conducted my 41st law firm training this year. I am deeply privileged to do work I love for clients I respect deeply.
Neal Gerber Eisenberg has been a client of mine for over 20 years. In addition to conducting numerous trainings for them, I have also placed their head of Marketing, head of Recruiting & PD and many other business services professionals. Being a trusted advisor to their leadership has been a career highlight!
I share this with you because when we share values with our (internal and external) clients, our work is deeply rewarding.
For example, NGE asked me to incorporate a focused discussion on neurodiversity when interviewing candidates. Although I have conducted interviewer training for 92 law firms, I have never taught how to avoid bias when interviewing neurodiverse candidates.
I took on the challenge because I wanted to serve my client and saw it as an opportunity to learn. I studied the topic and got more familiar with how neurodiverse attorneys benefit law firms and incorporated these learnings into the interviewer training. I am happy to report that the program was very well received by the 30 attorneys who attended!
My goal for 2024 was to conduct 55 trainings and it looks like I will exceed that number. The reason there’s a greater need for training in law firms than ever before is that we are all operating in a new workplace. Talent at all levels needs to evolve how we communicate and collaborate.
Thank you to the 40+ law firms who hired me to conduct trainings for their talent, and if we haven’t had a chance to work together yet, I hope we will!
